So What The Heck Can I Eat?

Of course, the million dollar question :)

At the end of this post are links to pages from the book that list our "Flatten Your Tummy" foods, foods in the book that are allowed.  Print them.  Here's how you should plan out your daily menus and portions:

Carbohydrates:  Eat a fist sized portion from the carbs or fruits list with every meal.

Protien:  Eat a palm sized portion with every meal.

Fats:  Eat a thumb-sized portion with every meal.

Vegetables:  Add at least 2 fist sized portions to at least 2 meals a day.  You may eat unlimited greens (asterixked) with all of your meals.

Fruits: Eat a fist size portion from the carbs or fruits list wtih every meal.

Sweetners:  Use sweetners very sparingly

  1. I noticed on Page 1 of FYT foods that Greek Yogurt is allowed, but not standard non-fat/lowfat yogurt. I recall Greek yogurt is high in fat...does anybody know why this is the recommended type of yogurt??

  2. Hi Laura! Greek yogurt has a lot less sugar than the regular kind. Here's an article I found:

  3. um, how can low fat yogurt not count? that's silly. i'm eating it and hope nobody tries to say it's breaking the rules:) You know, the book tried to say coffee is bad - when i read a 4 pg article in a health magazine about it's benefits. there are so many schools of thought! Some foods are obviously bad - butter, fried foods, etc. but we can't be so picky as to not allow ourslves heahtly foods like granola, low fat yogurts and dried fruit. ouch!
